Research offer

  • The equipment in the laboratory allows us to carry out basic tests related to the heat treatment of metals, sample preparation and analysis. The new specialized equipment in the "Metal Research Laboratory" includes: Scanning microscope with EDS attachment enabling high-magnification images and testing the chemical composition of the tested sample. Low-vacuum sputtering machine MCM 100P (MCM 100) from SEC - sputtering of a conductive surface layer (gold) on non-conductive plastic materials. A metallographic light microscope equipped with a camera for high-quality images and software for specialized analysis. Acoustic emission recorder. Laboratory quenching furnaces.
  • An optical microscope and a scanning microscope is a measurement and research tool for analyzing the condition of a surface and assessing its morphology. In the laboratory, it is possible to prepare metallographic samples (stations for the preparation of metal samples) and to take photos of their surface on an optical microscope. Conductive samples can also be imaged on a scanning microscope, and it is also possible to measure their chemical composition using the EDS adapter. Imaging the surface of non-conductive materials is possible thanks to a spraying machine that covers the surface of the sample with a conductive layer.
  • Studies of acoustic emission phenomena during phase transitions in steels are also carried out. The research uses equipment for measuring acoustic emission signals together with software for the analysis of recorded signals based on neural networks.
  • The Laboratory also has heat treatment furnaces, including a modern gas-tight furnace. The automatic dilatometer in the laboratory enables the analysis of phase transitions occurring in metals on the basis of measurements of changes in the coefficient of linear thermal expansion of solids.
  • Studies of the physical and mechanical properties of wood materials and structural elements made of these materials may be carried out.
