Rural Geography Seminar

Purpose and issues

Dear Sir or Madam,

The global climate, environmental and energy crisis has contributed to the search for new concepts of sustainable development in recent years. One of the directions for building sustainable and equitable global economic growth is "greening" the economy through support for environmental investments and responsible use of natural resources. A green economy is an economic model aimed at achieving a balance in the areas of economic growth, environmental and climate protection and social justice. It is of particular importance in the development of rural areas, whose economy heavily relies on natural resources used in: agriculture, forestry and tourism, among others.

The main objective of the conference is to develop theoretical and practical solutions to the current and most important challenges of the green economy as a model for sustainable rural development. At the same time, the conference is intended to be a meeting place for practitioners and researchers in economic, social and physical geography, economics and social sciences, demography, spatial management, urban planning and management, as well as representatives from the field of development and management in rural areas. The research results presented at the Seminar can be the key to a more regionally and locally optimized development of the green economy in rural areas, while the developed recommendations can be used in the formation of the country's regional policy.
