"World of Ideas and Politics" is a scientific journal of the Faculty of Political Sciences and Public Administration of  Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz, which has published papers and reviews of authors from Poland and abroad since 2001. From the beginning of its existence, the journal was an annual, and from 2021 it is a semi-annual. The editorial board's intention is to show various aspects of politics that change over time and space. The journal is a place of scientific debate of researchers of scientific disciplines in the field of social sciences. The authors present different traditions, research approaches, and paradigms. The common motive for these considerations are broadly understood political ideas, phenomena, and processes. The journal publishes original papers, both theoretical and empirical in nature, and summarizes the existing state of knowledge and research. Papers are published in Polish, English, Russian, German, and Spanish. The condition for publication of the paper is its successful going through the two-stage review procedure. The high substantive level of the journal is ensured by the editors, scientific board and reviewers. In the years 2001-2019, "World of Ideas and Politics " was published by Adam Marszałek Publishing House, and from 2020 is published by the Kazimierz Wielki University Publishing House, both in paper (primary) and electronic version. The journal applies the principles of publication ethics in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The journal uses digital object identifiers (DOI) and unique authors identifiers (ORCID - Open Researcher and Contributor ID).

 

Thematic scope of the journal

„World of Ideas and Politics” is an interdisciplinary journal in the field of social sciences. The main scientific discipline within which the journal operates are political and public administrative sciences, including primarily political theory, methodology of political and public administrative sciences, international political relations, recent political history, geopolitics, political thought, political ideologies, political doctrines, political systems, political parties and social movements, theory of state and law, public administration, local government, sociology of politics, philosophy of politics, psychology of politics, political marketing, political communication and specific policies (economic, social, cultural, environmental, ethnic, and others). Beside them, three important scientific disciplines of the journal are sociological sciences, security sciences, and social communication and media sciences. The journal also publishes papers from other scientific disciplines in the field of social sciences. The condition of the paper’s compliance with the journal's profile, however, is its direct link with various aspects of politics.

All papers published in the journal are fully open access: immediately freely available to read, download and share. Articles are published under the terms of a Creative Commons CC-BY license, which permits everyone use, distribution and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited. Regardless of the above, the authors retain the copyright of their work.

Suspension of cooperation with scientists from the Russian Federation

Due to the decision of the Ministry of Education and Science to cease cooperation with the Russian Federation in the field of science and technology, the Editorial Board of the journal decided to suspend cooperation with scientists affiliated in the Russian Federation. This includes membership in the Editorial Board and the Scientific Council, reviewers and authors of articles.
