dr Wałdoch Marcin PiotrEnglish

Dr Marcin Wałdoch – political scientist. Adjunct (assistant professor) at the Faculty of Political Sciences and Public Administration, Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz/Poland. Educated both at the Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz and at the University of Gdańsk in Poland. He is an author of 3 books –About the carnival of Chojnice „Solidarity”. Development and the new social movement role in local conditions (1980-1981), Chojnice 2015; Chojnice’s June ’89. The local study of the shockwave process of democratization, Chojnice 2017; Close antipodes: Polish-New Zealand relations in the processes of world globalization and diversification, Bydgoszcz 2020. Co – author of book Chojnice 1939 (Warszawa 2014) and translator into Polish of a prof. Walter Smith book The Butcher’s Tale: murder and anti-semitism in a German town (The best book in 2002 according to “Los Angeles Times”). In 2018 he realized his grant, in New Zealand, from National Science Centre about Political aspects of public information law access in New Zealand and Poland: comparative analysis.

Research Interests: globalization, international relations, political theory, ethnic and national miniorites, contemporary history, social movements, political thought, New Zealand and Pcific Region, Polish-New Zealand relations, regional and local studies, democratization processes, philosophy of social sciences, security and special forces of II Republic of Poland and People's Republic of Poland, electoral behaviour, political attitudes, state-phobia, immigration politics/policies, civil society and public information access, comparative analysis, systems theory, critical studies (and discourse analysis - CDA, HDA), utopias and dystopias.
