Radosław Kotecki (ORCID: 0000-0002-6757-9358) jest adiunktem na Wydziale Historycznym UKW (Katedra Historii Średniowiecznej). Zainteresowania badawcze obejmują średniowieczną kulturę, zwłaszcza zjawiska z pogranicza religii i wojny, Kościoła oraz przemocy. Ostatnio prowadzi badania nad zagadnieniem udziału duchowieństwa w wojnach oraz zjawiskiem sakralizacji działań orężnych w średniowieczu. Ponadto, jest autorem prac dotyczących historii prawa, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem średniowiecznego prawa kościelnego, wymiaru sprawiedliwości, kar oraz zjawiska protekcji monarszej. Dr Kotecki jest współredaktorem kilku prac zbiorowych, w tym: Ecclesia et Violentia: Violence Against the Church and Violence Within the Church in the Middle Ages (Cambridge Scholars, 2014); Between Sword and Prayer: Warfare and Medieval Clergy in Cultural Perspective (Brill, 2018); Christianity and War in Medieval East Central Europe and Scandinavia (Arc Humanities Press, 2021); Religious Rites of War beyond the Medieval West: Volume 1: Northern Europe ant the Baltic, Volume 2: Central and Eastern Europe (Brill, 2023). Aktualnie przygotowuje monografię pt. Signiferi. Narracje o „chorążych” i znakach zwycięstwa w środkowo- i wschodnio-europejskim piśmiennictwie historycznym. Studium z problematyki sakralizacji i rytualizacji wojny w średniowieczu.


Radosław Kotecki (ORCID: 0000-0002-6757-9358) is an assistant professor at the Faculty of History at the University of Kazimierz Wielki in Bydgoszcz (Department of Medieval History). His research interests encompass medieval culture, particularly the intersections of religion and warfare, the Church, and violence. Recently, he has been conducting research on the involvement of clergy in wars and the phenomenon of the sacralization of military activities in the Middle Ages. Furthermore, he is the author of works related to legal history, with a specific focus on medieval canon law, the judicial system, punishments, and the phenomenon of royal peace. Dr. Kotecki is a co-editor of several collective works, including: "Ecclesia et Violentia: Violence Against the Church and Violence Within the Church in the Middle Ages" (Cambridge Scholars, 2014); "Between Sword and Prayer: Warfare and Medieval Clergy in Cultural Perspective" (Brill, 2018); "Christianity and War in Medieval East Central Europe and Scandinavia" (Arc Humanities Press, 2021); "Religious Rites of War beyond the Medieval West: Volume 1: Northern Europe and the Baltic, Volume 2: Central and Eastern Europe" (Brill, 2023). Currently, he is preparing a monograph titled "Signiferi: Narratives of 'Standard-Bearers' and Signs of Victory in Central and Eastern European Historical Literature. A Study on the Sacralization and Ritualization of Warfare in the Middle Ages."
